Our AML and verification policy
We hold licence MGA/B2C/812/2024 issued by the Malta Gaming Authority, and that licence binds us to strict anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing obligations. This page sets out, in plain terms, what we verify, when we verify it, and what we expect from you.
Our AML commitments
Goldex Casino operates under the Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/B2C/812/2024. Since our launch in 2025, we have applied the AML framework required by that licence: customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting and record keeping. Our compliance function is led by a designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) who reports directly to the regulator where the law requires it.
We do not accept players from restricted jurisdictions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark. Accounts opened from a restricted territory are closed without refund of bonuses, and deposits may be returned to their original source where the law permits. You must be 18 or over to hold an account with us.
- Customer due diligence at onboarding and at defined triggers
- Ongoing monitoring of deposits, withdrawals and betting patterns
- Suspicious transaction reporting to the relevant authorities
- Staff training and independent AML audits
When we verify your identity
Verification triggers
We verify your identity at three points: when you register, before your first withdrawal, and whenever a defined threshold or risk trigger is reached. Registration checks are electronic and usually complete within minutes. Document checks before your first withdrawal take 24 to 72 hours, and we may ask for updated documents at any later stage if something changes.
- At registration, through electronic identity checks against public records
- Before your first withdrawal, with full document verification
- When cumulative deposits or withdrawals reach AUD 2,330, or at any point our risk assessment requires it
Documents we accept
We need three things from you: proof of identity, proof of address and proof that the payment method is yours. Government-issued photo ID means a passport, national identity card or driving licence. Proof of address must be a utility bill, bank statement or official government correspondence dated within the last three months. For payment verification, a photo of the card showing the first six and last four digits, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name, is enough.
- Identity: passport, national ID card or driver licence, valid and undamaged
- Address: utility bill, bank statement or government letter, dated within 3 months
- Payment method: card photo with middle digits covered, or wallet screenshot showing your name
- Source of funds documents, only when we specifically request them
How verification works
Verification runs through your account profile. Upload clear, uncropped photos or PDFs, and our compliance team reviews them in the order received. Standard review time is 24 to 72 hours; during busy periods we tell you if there is a delay. We store every document in encrypted storage with strict access controls, and we never share your verification data with third parties except where the law obliges us.
- Step 1: open the Verification tab in your account profile
- Step 2: upload your ID, proof of address and payment method proof
- Step 3: our compliance team reviews within 24 to 72 hours
- Step 4: you receive the result by email and in your account inbox
- Step 5: if a document fails, we tell you exactly why and what to resend
When we ask about funds
For most players, standard verification is all we ever need. We ask for source of funds evidence when your deposits are large relative to the profile you have shown us, when your betting pattern changes sharply, or when a legal threshold is crossed. This is not an accusation; it is a regulatory obligation that protects both you and our platform.
Acceptable evidence includes recent payslips, a tax return or notice of assessment, bank statements showing regular income, a sale contract for property or shares, or an inheritance or divorce settlement document. A screenshot of a crypto wallet with visible transaction history may also satisfy us, depending on the amounts involved. If you would rather not proceed, you may withdraw your balance and close the account, subject to the checks already completed.
How we monitor transactions
Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes automated and manual checks. We compare transaction sizes and frequency against your verified profile, and we flag anything that sits outside it. As a rule of the regulator rather than of us, withdrawals must return by the same method you used to deposit, up to the amount you deposited; any surplus balance can go out through another verified method. Crypto withdrawals go only to a wallet address you have verified with us.
Our limits are straightforward: minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal are both AUD 30, and you can withdraw up to AUD 8,000 per day and AUD 32,000 per month. Withdrawals are processed within 0 to 24 hours once verification is complete, with no fees from our side. Larger one-off wins above the monthly cap are paid in instalments until the balance clears.
| Item | Amount or timeframe |
|---|---|
| Minimum deposit | AUD 30 |
| Minimum withdrawal | AUD 30 |
| Daily withdrawal cap | AUD 8,000 |
| Monthly withdrawal cap | AUD 32,000 |
| Withdrawal processing | 0 to 24 hours after verification |
| Verification review | 24 to 72 hours |
If verification fails
If a document is rejected, we tell you the reason and give you a chance to resubmit. If you do not provide the requested documents within 30 days, we suspend withdrawals on the account. Suspended accounts keep their balance and remain open for you to complete verification at any time. Where we suspect fraud, third-party payment use or deliberate evasion of the AML rules, we may freeze the account and report the matter to the Malta Gaming Authority and the relevant financial intelligence unit. Frozen funds are either returned to their verified source or held pending the regulator's direction.
Using a payment method registered in another person's name is the most common cause of permanent closure. Every deposit must come from an account, card or wallet in your own name, and every withdrawal goes back to that same verified method.
- Rejected document: reason given, resubmission allowed
- No documents within 30 days: withdrawals suspended
- Suspected fraud or third-party payments: account frozen and reported
- Restricted jurisdiction: account closed, deposits returned to source
How long we keep records
Our MGA licence and Maltese AML law require us to keep verification records for five years after your account closes. We hold your ID documents, proof of address, payment verification and transaction history in encrypted storage, with access limited to trained compliance staff. After the retention period expires, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the records. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time by writing to [email protected], and our live chat team is available 24/7 if you have questions about this policy.
Frequently asked questions
How long does verification take at Goldex Casino?
Electronic checks at registration take minutes. Document verification before your first withdrawal takes 24 to 72 hours, and we notify you by email as soon as the review is complete.
Why must I withdraw with the same method I deposited with?
It is an anti-money-laundering requirement of our MGA licence. Funds return to the same verified method up to the amount deposited, and any surplus balance can be paid to another verified method.
What happens if I do not send my documents?
Withdrawals are suspended after 30 days without the requested documents. Your balance stays in the account, and you can complete verification at any time to lift the suspension.
Do you verify crypto deposits?
Yes. Crypto withdrawals go only to a wallet address you have verified with us, and large or unusual crypto transactions may trigger the same source of funds checks as fiat payments.
